Some markets are denser than others. Big cities tend to have businesses with cleaner websites. Try a smaller nearby city or a different trade — plumbers, roofers, and electricians in mid-size cities consistently produce the most leads.
Every result is automatically verified before it reaches you. Businesses with working websites are filtered out. What you see is confirmed broken or missing — not guesses.
Higher scores mean bigger opportunities for you. 9.0 means the business has no website at all — a blank slate to pitch from scratch. 5.0 means their site is broken or dead. Lower scores flag real but smaller issues like outdated design or missing mobile optimization.
Use the phone number or email on each card. Mention you found them online and noticed their website could be costing them customers. Keep it short, specific, and genuine — the best pitch focuses on what they're losing, not what you're selling.
Never. Credits you buy today are valid forever. No monthly fees, no deadlines, no pressure to use them.
Your credit is refunded automatically. Try a smaller city or a different trade — most freelancers find their best markets within the first 5–10 scans.
Yes — each scan uses 1 credit. Business listings and website quality change over time, so the same search may surface different opportunities on different days.
Some businesses don't list a phone or email publicly. The business name and address are enough to find them with a quick search — most local businesses are easy to track down.

Understanding SiteHunter
5 questions
SiteHunter is a lead finder for freelance web developers and small agencies. Type a city and a trade — like "plumbers austin tx" — and in about 30 seconds you get a ranked list of local businesses with broken or missing websites, complete with contact info and a pitch brief.
A broken website finder identifies local businesses with broken, missing, or outdated websites automatically. SiteHunter scans any US city and trade and returns ranked leads with verified contact info in seconds — turning hours of manual research into a 30-second scan.
We search local business listings, check each business for a web presence, and verify whether a website exists and works. Businesses with no website, broken sites, or sites that aren't connected to their listing get surfaced and ranked by opportunity.

Understanding the scores
2 questions
The opportunity score ranks how big the project is likely to be. Higher scores mean bigger opportunities — a 9.0 means no website at all, while lower scores flag smaller issues like outdated design or missing mobile.
9.0 — no website found. The highest-value lead; pitch a site from scratch. 8.0 — social-only. The business runs on Facebook or Instagram but has no real website. 5.0 — broken or dead site. The website exists but errors out or is inaccessible. 4.0 — not connected. A website exists but isn't linked to their listing. 3.0 and below — real but flawed. Site works but has SSL, copyright, or mobile issues.
Getting the best results
10 questions
Start with a trade in a mid-size city — "plumbers waco tx" or "roofers round rock tx" are strong starting points. Trades consistently carry the most broken and missing websites. Mid-size cities produce more leads than big metros where businesses already have decent sites.
Trades produce the most leads — plumbers, roofers, electricians, HVAC, landscapers, pest control, painters, fence and tree services. Professional services like lawyers, dentists, chiropractors, and accountants work well in smaller markets. Any local service business is fair game.
Mid-size cities consistently outperform big metros. Waco TX, Eugene OR, Savannah GA, Santa Fe NM, Boise ID, and Spokane WA all produce strong results. New York, LA, and Chicago tend to have more businesses with existing sites. SiteHunter works in any US city, town, or suburb.
Your credit is refunded automatically when a search returns 0. This usually happens in big competitive markets where most businesses already have websites. Try a smaller nearby city or a different trade.
Some markets are denser than others. Try a smaller city, a different trade, or a nearby suburb. You won't be charged extra — your credit covers the scan regardless of result count.
Yes — each scan uses 1 credit. Listings and site quality change, so the same search may surface different leads on different days.
Most scans finish in 20–35 seconds. Larger markets with more businesses to check may take a bit longer.
Each lead includes the business name, address, phone number, and (where available) email. Some businesses don't publish contact info publicly — in those cases the name and address are enough to find them.
Some businesses don't publish an email — they use contact forms or phone only. The phone number and address are still plenty for outreach.
Some Google listings don't include a phone number. The business name and address are enough to find and contact them directly.
Credits and pricing
6 questions
Each market scan uses 1 credit regardless of how many leads come back. Credits are one-time bundles — no subscriptions, no monthly fees. They never expire so you use them on your own schedule.
Never. Credits you buy today are valid forever. No monthly fees, no deadlines, no pressure.
Your credit is refunded to your account automatically. You're never charged for a scan that returns nothing.
Credits are non-refundable except when a scan returns 0 results — in that case the credit is returned automatically. All other purchases are final. Credits never expire, so there's no urgency to use them.
Every new account gets 1 free scan credit. No card required. The free credit never expires — use it whenever you're ready.
The only difference is the number of credits. Starter: 10 credits for $35. Growth: 25 for $79. Pro: 50 for $149. Every tier gets the same full results, same contact info, same features. Credits never expire on any tier.
Reaching out to leads
5 questions
Use the phone number or email on each card. Mention you found them online and noticed their website needs attention. Keep your pitch short, specific, and focused on what it costs them NOT to have a working site.
Keep it simple. Something like — "Hi, I'm a web developer based in [city]. I came across your business online and noticed your website isn't showing up properly. I help local businesses get set up online — do you have 5 minutes?" Short, specific, non-pushy.
Lead with what they're losing — customers searching for their service who can't find them. Don't lead with what you're selling. "You're losing customers" lands faster than "I build websites."
Higher scores mean bigger opportunities. A 9.0 with no website is a blank slate — easiest pitch, biggest project. A 3.0 or 4.0 means they have a site that needs work — smaller project but often easier to close since they already value being online.
Yes. SiteHunter surfaces publicly available business information. Contacting a local business about their website is standard business development. Make sure your outreach complies with the CAN-SPAM Act (email) and TCPA (phone) in the states you serve.
